Beyond the individual participants, the ECLIPSE consortium has been set up in order to achieve the project objectives and enable the expected impact with the following strategy
The consortium features a true European dimension, with nine partners from five countries: Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Airbus Defence and Space (Coordinator)

Since 2005, OXIS Energy has spearheaded the Next Generation of Batteries, pioneering rechargeable Lithium Sulphur technology. The company has developed its unparalleled technology around sulphur-based cathode materials, highly stable electrolyte systems and anodes made of lithium metal. OXIS is based at the Culham Science Centre near Oxford in the UK, at the site where the first Lithium‐ion batteries were developed and prototyped.
The Fraunhofer IWS institute conducts applied research and development in the field of laser and surface technology. Its core activities cover a wide range of areas such as laser welding, cutting, coating, hardening and cleaning as well as surface and thin film technology, vapour deposition, process monitoring and Nano particle technology. IWS is well known for its long term experience in Nano and surface technology as well as for its research focused on next generation battery systems.
CEA‐LITEN is a research institute dedicated to technological research, focused on renewable energy sources (solar cells, biomass), energy storage systems (electric vehicles, hydrogen, system management) and nanomaterials for energy applications.
Saft Defence and Space is a division of Saft SAS and is a worldwide leader in the design, development and manufacturing of advanced batteries for Defence and Space activities. As a pioneer in lithium-ion batteries for space applications, Saft offers advanced battery solutions providing very long shelf-life for spacecraft applications.
SpaceTec Partners (STP) is a strategy, management and communications consultancy firm, focussed on the space sector. STP is a unique boutique consultancy as its team combines years of consulting craftsmanship with in‐depth expertise of the space industry and policy.
